Ubisoft has officially announced the global launch timings and pre-load details for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, set to release on Mar 20, 2025. This highly anticipated launch will be the franchise’s first entry set in feudal Japan, which brings a fresh historical backdrop to the iconic series.

Pre-Load Launch Schedule

Players who pre-ordered the game can start downloading ahead of launch based on their platform:

  • Xbox Series X/S: Available now
  • PC (Ubisoft Connect & Steam): March 17 at 4 PM UTC
  • PlayStation 5: March 18 at 12 AM Local Time

Global Release Times

Launch times will vary by region and platform:

  • Consoles (PS5 & Xbox Series X/S): Midnight local time on March 20
  • PC (Ubisoft Connect): Launches on March 19 in some regions, including Los Angeles (9 AM), London (10 PM), and Tokyo (9 PM).
  • PC (Steam): The game will be released later in certain regions, such as London (4 AM on March 20) and Tokyo (1 PM on March 20).

Gameplay and Compatibility

Ubisoft also confirmed that Assassin’s Creed Shadows will not support the Steam Deck at launch, as the handheld device does not meet the game’s minimum requirements. However, there is some speculation over future optimizations.

As for gameplay duration, players can expect around 30-50 hours to complete the main story, while full completion, including side quests, could take up to 80 hours. This improved experience contrasts with the lengthier Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, which some fans found overwhelming.

With just two weeks left until launch, fans are gearing up for what promises to be one of the most exciting Assassin’s Creed experiences to date.
