Nintendo is on the verge of revealing crucial details about its next-generation console, the Nintendo Switch 2, on Wednesday through a livestream at 9:00 AM EST.
The stream is expected to last approximately 60 minutes, which promises to unveil the hardware and a selection of upcoming titles for the system. While games for the original Switch are unlikely to be announced, cross-generation releases such as Metroid Prime 4 could make an appearance.
Gaming lovers are eagerly waiting for this moment, as it marks Nintendo’s first major hardware update since the Switch’s launch in 2017. “Nintendo has always managed to surprise us with its hardware innovations,” says gaming analyst Daniel Ahmad. “Given the success of the hybrid model, the big question is: how will Switch 2 push the concept further?”
The Direct will be streamed live on Nintendo’s official YouTube and Twitch channels. However, gamers can get faster updates on Twitch as it holds a slight edge in terms of latency.
Nintendo has scheduled two gameplay livestreams featuring hands-on sessions led by the Nintendo Treehouse team. These sessions, which take place at 10:00 AM EST on April 3 and April 4, will provide deeper data into the games revealed during the Direct.
