The Sandbox is grabbing headlines once again with the launch of Alpha Season 5, introducing an exciting Jurassic World experience in partnership with Universal and Amblin Entertainment.
This immersive journey lets players step into the shoes of employee at a dinosaur sanctuary, tasked with maintaining the parkโs ecosystem.
In Jurassic World: Dinosaur Preserve, players will care for dinosaur eggs, nurture the baby dinosaurs, and ensure the park operates smoothly; all without the help of Owen Grady, the character made famous by Chris Pratt. As the dinosaurs grow using Jurassic Points โ earned through tasks like feeding and cleaningโplayers will watch them mature from hatchlings to majestic creatures.
Big Brands Join the Metaverse Party: Jurassic World Joins League
The six-week-long season is packed with over 40 new experiences, which feature content from globally recognized franchises such as Attack on Titan, The Smurfs, and The Terminator. Half of these experiences are brand collaborations, while the rest are user-generated.
โAlpha Season 5 marks a significant milestone for The Sandbox as we work towards our vision of building a social metaverse that combines gamified storytelling for brands with new formats for interactive user-generated content and culture,โ The Sandbox co-founder and COO Sebastien Borget said.
NFT-Based Dinosaurs and Rewards Galore
The Jurassic World comes with 10 types of dinosaur eggs, with half being free-to-play herbivorous species and the other half premium, purchasable carnivorous dinosaursโboth minted as NFTs. These NFTs, deployed on Polygon, will have limited supply, enhancing their exclusivity.
To attract more players, The Sandbox is offering over $1 million worth of SAND tokens and 50+ NFTs via its in-game battle pass.
