Sci-fi stealth action fans have reason to celebrate as Storm in a Teacup, the studio behind Close to the Sun, has officially announced the release date for Steel Seed. The highly anticipated title will launch on April 10, 2025, across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
Originally revealed in early 2023, Steel Seed presents a gripping narrative set in a futuristic world on the brink of collapse. Players take control of Zoe, a lone infiltrator navigating a perilous underground facility. Her mission: uncover secrets that could determine the fate of humanity. To aid her, Zoe is accompanied by a drone companion named Koby, which provides support in stealth, combat, and puzzle-solving scenarios.
Publisher ESDigital Games has confirmed that Steel Seed will be available on Steam and the Epic Games Store at launch with pre-orders and wishlisting already open. While pricing details have yet to be disclosed, its fans can experience a taste of the game through a demo currently accessible on Steam. An Xbox Store listing is expected in the upcoming days.
To mark the release date announcement, the developers unveiled a new trailer, which shows Steel Seed’s intense gameplay and emotional depth. The footage features Zoe traversing a hostile environment, engaging in fast-paced platforming, and balancing stealth with action-oriented encounters.
The trailer’s voiceover challenges Zoe’s humanity, setting the stage for an intriguing narrative arc.
Beyond its stealth and combat mechanics, Steel Seed incorporates RPG elements, boasting three-skill tress with 40 upgrades. With a blend of atmospheric storytelling, refined gameplay, and deep customization options, Steel Seed aims to deliver an unforgettable sci-fi adventure.
