Sony has rolled out a fresh PlayStation 5 system update today, which introduces minor but impactful changes that refine the consoleโs overall experience. While the update does not bring any great overhauls, it includes several quality-of-life improvements that fans have been clamoring for.
Notably, the update fine-tunes Activity settings, adds a number of new emojis, and introduces expanded parental controls options, which is alongside the usual stability and performance enhancements.
The update โVersion 25.02-11.00.00โ is available now and should download automatically if automatic updates are enabled.
Whatโs New in Version 25.02-11.00.00?
Among the most significant changes is an improvement to Activity settings. Players can now see detailed activity information directly on cards without worrying about spoilers. These upgrades are particularly useful for story-based titles, where unintentional spoilers from friendsโ progress or hidden trophies were previously a concern.
Sony has maintained the spoiler safeguard, which ensures sensitive content remains hidden unless intentionally viewed. Additionally, Unicode 16.0 emoji support has been integrated, which gives players a wider range of expressive options in messages.
Parental controls have also received an upgrade. Now, if the restriction level is set to โLate Teens or Older,โ communication and user-generated content will automatically default to โRestrict.โ However, any custom settings previously applied will remain intact.
Finally, as with most system updates, Sony has improved the PS5โs overall stability and performance. This resolves minor bugs and improves the user interface in select areas.
